Introduction:

An executive agency sponsored by an important government department in the UK. They deal with the design, maintenance and repair of various avionic and electrical equipment supporting their parent department’s principal objectives.

Challenge:

The current pandemic created a series of specific requirements which an out of the box conferencing solution could not provide due to the need to integrate with their internal systems. The new provider had to already be on the G-cloud framework to expedite the procurement process. The agency needed a solution that provided both the ability for self-administered one-to-one conference calls and operator-assisted large scale group calls. Due to the sensitive nature of the organisation, security and data sovereignty the new provider had to be based in the UK.

Solution:

babl provided the executive agency with their own unique instance of the platform to enable secure, compliant communication between agency and their parent government department teams. 

The solution was locked to internal use only, given the nature of their interactions there could be no risk of external intrusions. Administrators retained control over all users with specific user-based permissions that controlled which data and features could be accessed.

The solution included several customisable conference rooms each tailored to the needs of different teams. Operator-assisted calls were included in the solution offered to enable risk planning and crisis management conversations related to COVID-19.
