Atkins Global, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies.
Due to Covid-19, travelling restrictions limited UK based employees to engage in a series of face-to-face roadshows. This led them to explore the possibility of taking these events virtually.
After much consideration, Atkins realised they could in fact bring all employees within multiple divisions together in one ‘mega-event’ from deploying in a virtual format.
Atkins got in touch with Babl to better understand how they could create a day that was both inspiring, and engaging. Providing employees with a choice of sessions to attend and ensure all participants could connect easily and efficiently.
Following on from a discovery call, Babl ensured through a series of scoping calls and demonstration of solutions, Babl were able to present in a format that was agreed upon to be deployed as a ‘white-glove concierge’ fully managed virtual event solution including:
- Create a fully managed all-day virtual event.
- Support 3000 participants.
- Run three presentations concurrently.
- Offer breakout rooms, host presentation requirements, and deliver an interactive experience as seamlessly as possible.
The final solution allowed Atkins to deliver on a very ambitious plan, bring employees together to connect on their key priorities and spotlight their successes.
Attendees commented as they left the event that they had felt ‘inspired and uplifted’ – this was seen as especially important as this event had taken place during the UK’s third national lockdown.
Internal Communications Manager, Madeleine Willett commented “It was absolutely brilliant! The team did a fantastic job and with the number of sessions (21) and presenters (62!) we had, that was no mean feat! We’d certainly be happy to use Babl again and I’m running a session with my wider team to share the workings of the event and will be recommending Babl for future requirements.”
